Brain Gym® 101
As a parent, teacher,
Discover new skills: One is muscle checking, a
powerful biofeedback tool to assess needs and identify solutions. Goal setting
and action balances assist in clarifying goals and choosing movements to make
achieving those goals easy and automatic. These techniques can be applied in the
work setting, in schools and at home to achieve both personal and professional
success.
This course is the first level of instruction offered by the Educational
Kinesiology Foundation. Created as a result of years of research by Dr. Paul
Dennison, Ph.D., Brain Gym® is a brilliant synthesis of applied kinesiology,
left/right brain research, acupressure, developmental optometry and
neurolinguistics. Since 1990, Brain Gym® has been selected annually by the U.S.
President Task Force on Learning as one of today's leading technologies for
education.
The course program includes:
- Self-awareness: learn noticing skills and muscle biofeedback to access your potential.
- Goal setting and action balance: Identify appropriate goals. Discover specific movements to make achieving our goals easy and automatic.
- The three dimensions of brain organization: Laterality, Centering and Focus. Integration leads to whole-brain learning.
- Learning disabilities: ADD & ADHD Identify and learn steps to help.
- Using our senses: experience ways to continually improve our vision and reading, listening and memory, concentration and over-all body coordination.
- Self-esteem: develop a positive attitude about yourself, others and what you can achieve together.
